Came here for breakfast and ordered the waffle and beef brisket cheesesteak sandwich. I must first say, I loved the environment. The sitting in the lane, the nice heater for the cold weather, the friendly and efficient waiter made the whole dining experience a perfect experience. The only thing I must warn you is the generous portions. Both my dishes are more than filling. As a matter of fact I couldn't finish it. It was just too much for us. I found the waffle delicious with perfectly cooked warm waffles with more than adequate ice cream and strawberry. This constructed well with the salty savoury beef. Again, superbly cooked, tender, juicy and incredibly flavoured with more than enough bread to make a hearty meal of it. In the end, I had a great extremely filling meal in an enjoyable environment with friendly staff. Perfect breakfast and fully recommended.

The calm atmosphere truly enhanced the experience, making the flavors taste even better than they would in a less pleasant setting. Overall, I left with a great impression and will certainly return.

Such a cool little Cafe restaurant, good service, good coffee, my husband has really enjoyed his breakfast but mine was ok as there's only 1 vegan dish available on the menu so I had no other options, hope there will be more vegan dishes added on the menu one day.

A fantastic breakfast spot tucked into one of Melbourne’s iconic laneways. We sat outside under the heaters with a buzzing laneway vibe all around — classic Melbourne atmosphere. The food was spot on. My partner and I both had the Big Turtle — creamy eggs, well-seasoned and my partner’s eggs came out perfectly poached. Avocado was fresh, hashbrowns crispy, and the presentation was beautiful. Quality ingredients all around. Coffee? Smooth and strong. My partner had a latte and I had the long black — both made just right. Great crema, well-balanced flavour. Service was very slow and one of the servers had no concept of English but we made it work and despite the overwhelming crowd the staff were friendly and on the ball. Highly recommend Mock Turtle for a proper Melbourne brekky experience — good food, great coffee, and unbeatable laneway charm.

The atmosphere was wonderful. Only exception was the waffle I felt weren't up to scratch they were dry and burnt. We told them about it and they were willing to serve another plate of waffles this time they were amazing

Mock Turtle is such a gem! We stopped by for a little brunch and ended up having the most perfect morning. We shared a ham & cheese croissant and an almond croissant (half-half, as always!) with a latte and cappuccino and honestly, everything was spot on. The croissants were heated up and came out perfectly warm and flaky… chef’s kiss! The coffee was super smooth and delicious, you can tell they know what they’re doing. We were lucky enough to get a table outside, and with the beautiful weather, it honestly felt like we were sipping cappuccinos somewhere in Europe. The vibe is cozy, the food and coffee are on point, and the staff were so lovely. Big shoutout to the team for being so friendly and making our day. Can’t wait to come back!

I had waffles and hot chocolate for breakfast and honestly it's one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in Melbourne CBD. Highly recommended spot for any breakfast lovers
